Long Beach Aquarium Of the Pacific

We were lucky and got to go to two aquariums in two days!!
On Thurday, August 27th, me, Hali'a, Hilarie, Erin, and Kenny went to the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. This Aquarium was a lot bigger than the San Pedro one though.

Sis. Wood is a volunteer diver at the aquarium so after her dive to feed the fish, rays, turtles, and sharks, she gave us the "behind the scenes" tour of the tanks...

Here's the baby sharks that they are raising to be placed in the larger tanks or sold...

Sis. Wood even let us feed the fish and rays some seaweed...it was so cool to not be surrounded by other aquarium-goers

We also got to feed the birds...

Here are a couple of sea horses I thought were cool...

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO HILARIE, ERIN, AND KENNY FOR A FUN TIME AT THE AQUARIUM!
SPECIAL THANKS TO SIS. WOOD FOR THE AWESOME TOUR!!!

Cabrillo Marine Aquarium

On Wednesday, August 26th, Me, Hali'a, Hilarie and Lynette went to the tide pools in San Pedro then went to the Carillo Marine Aquarium.
We had a lot of fun and Hali'a loved being outdoors and checking out the cool sea creatures that are indigenous to this Southern California shores...

In this area we were allowed to feel the star fish and other plants and animals but Hali'a and I weren't too into that...

WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!!
THANK YOU, HILARIE AND LYNETTE!!

Yay, glasses!

Today, after work, Jon put these glasses on Hali'a and we thought they were pretty funny...

Frosty-stache

Since being prescribed to eat more table food, Hali'a has gotten quite a bunch of different foods. Today for lunch, she had some bun, french fries, and her favorite, some of Justin's vanilla frosty.
Here's her frosty-stache...

Yummy!

Hali'a decided that dad's forehead was yummy!

For some reason when Jon puts his head close to Hali'a, to kiss her or cuddle with her, she always tries to lick or bite his face and forehead! It's pretty funny.

The "poser"

She's still loving the camera...

Her new trick...

Hali'a found a new trick...

She loves squeaking on this football and it's so funny too! Too bad you can't really hear the squeaking she's doing!!

Happy Birthday, Nick!

On Saturday, August 22, 2009, we went to the ice rink to celebrate Nick's birthday. We had a fun time and we especially loved to visit with the Mautz and Gonzales family!!

Splasher!

She loves to splash like this during her bath time. We're so glad that she loves the water!!

P.S. there is a floating turtle with her in the sink but you never get to see it...but just so you know, there is a turtle, I'm not crazy:)

9-Month Bath time

Isn't she a cutie?! She loves playing in water!
When Hali'a was younger we had a hard time getting her to smile for the camera. Now that she is older, when she sees me or Jon with the camera she smiles and poses for us!

Just Practicing...

Hali'a has recently been practicing her screaming. I guess she's just testing out her new sounds. She does this a lot and I was lucky to catch it on video.

Our 9 Month Old Monster

Hali'a made 9 months on August 17th (Monday). I can't believe how time flew by! She's getting so big and she's still so much fun! Here she is having fun in her sink bath that morning...she still LOVES the water!!

On her 9 month birthday she had to go to the Pediatrician's to check her blood and to get her flu shot but she was still happy afterwards! The doctor said she's 24 inches and about 14 pounds. She's on the skinnier side so he prescribed more food. He said to cook her vegetables in oil and fatten her up...geez, I wish my doctor prescribed me that! So we are working hard to fatten this gal!

A Visit from the Mautz ohana

The Mautz ohana came to visit us this past Saturday. We haven't seen them for a long time so it was nice to see them again! Unfortunately we didn't get a picture with Aunt Sheila and Uncle Richard so we'll have to get together again!!
Hali'a was fascinated with Nick! It was so cute to see him play with her too (he's hoping for a sister someday).

Brian and Hali'a trying to figure each other out

It was a nice day and Grandpops filled up Hali'a's pool in the morning so by the afternoon the water was the perfect temperature for her! She LOVES the water!
